Hey there
I'M KRISTEN
A MODERN MIDWIFE WITH OLD SOUL ROOTS
I am California girl by birth turned Southern girl at heart, a Nurse Midwife by education, Licensed Midwife in South Carolina, and a forever student of the sacred rhythm of birth and women's wellness.

My path to midwifery began with my own birth story — a premature NICU baby born on Christmas Day by emergency C-Section who believed she'd one day give back as a NICU nurse. But everything changed when I had the opportunity to support my sister in her first pregnancy and birth. It sparked something in me that was drawn to the world of birth. While in nursing school, I witnessed a hospital birth attended by a nurse-midwife for the first time. In that room, I felt it — the calling. The quiet power of women, the ancient energy of birth, and the privilege of holding space during life’s most transformative moments. From that moment on, I knew midwifery was my path.

I’ve spent over 14 years in nursing, learning from every corner of the hospital on various Medical-surgical, Telemetry, and Labor & Delivery Units from California to North Carolina— gaining a deep respect for both the art and science of care. I earned my graduate degree from the historic Frontier Nursing University in 2016 and felt drawn to where my heart had always pointed: out-of-hospital birth. My dream came to fruition in moving to Savannah, Georgia to join the incredible midwives at what is now Lilac Health – Savannah Birth Center.

Alongside my midwifery journey, I'm blisfully married to Jesse — the man of my dreams and a dedicated U.S. Navy Chief. Together, we’ve built a beautiful, blended family: my daughter Juliette (7) and son Isaiah (5), his boys James (13), Jackson (11), and Greyson (6), and our sweet boss baby Everett (1). Yes, our hands are full — but our hearts are even fuller.

Though I’ve supported many families over the years, nothing shaped me more as a midwife than birthing my own children. All three of my babies were born outside the hospital — two at home, one in a birth center — each story a powerful reminder of the strength, intuition, and grace within every woman.
I believe in honoring that strength. I believe in whole woman care — care that gives you a voice, that sees you as more than a patient. I practice from a place of balance: grounded in holistic wellness, inspired by natural approaches, and deeply respectful of the life-saving tools Western medicine can provide when needed.

Magnolia Midwifery was birthed by the desire to forge deep, meaningful and long- term connections. My vision is simple but sacred: to offer women deeply personal, soul-led care that honors the body, the baby, and the beautiful unfolding of motherhood.
